James Swigart is Vice President and Treasurer of Mesa Air Group and has been with the company since 2004. Swigart also served on Mesa’s board of directors from 1999 through 2004. From 1995 through 1999, Jim was CFO and CEO of Virgin Express Holdings in Brussels, Belgium and was instrumental in creating one of Europe’s first low-cost air carriers. He was CFO of Continental Express and Vice President and Treasurer of Continental Airlines from 1993 to 1995 during the airline’s successful turn-around. Jim started his career at Citigroup and then Lehman Brothers, where he was head of the investment bank’s Transportation Group. Swigart earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering and an MBA from the University of Michigan.
