Director of Operations Security
Mesa Airlines, Inc.

Kevin Funk began his aviation career with America West Airlines in 1997 initially serving as a Customer Service Agent and later as Customer Service Supervisor and Ground Security Coordinator.

Funk joined Mesa Air Group in 2002 as Manager of Airport Operations Training, where he established professional curricula for ground operations personnel at Mesa-managed stations and, working directly with the FAA, improved the hazardous materials, station operations, ground de-icing and aircraft refueling manuals. After serving in a management role in Technical Publications for Freedom Airlines, Kevin became Mesa’s Director of Operations Security in 2007 responsible for security training curricula, regulatory compliance disposition and security-related processes which has earned Mesa Airlines commendation from the TSA.

He is a member of InfraGard, a partnership between the FBI and the private sector comprised of federal, state and local law enforcement agencies, counter-terrorism agencies, private sector critical infrastructure representatives and academia with the goal of preventing hostile acts against the United States.

Kevin has lived in Phoenix since 1980, attended Arizona State University and has completed specialized training from DHS, FAA and FEMA as well as in aviation quality assurance auditing.
